What is Sambong ?
Scientific Name: Blumea balsamifera is a medicinal plant that grows abundantly in the Philippines from Northern Luzon to Palawan and down south in Mindanao. It is commonly found in grasslands with altitudes that range from medium to high. Sambong is a weed thus it does not need extensive care for it to grow.

It is known for its remarkable treatment for kidney stones, rheumatism, coughs and colds, hypertension, heart disease and anti-diarrhea. The taste of this herbal medicine is horrifying in plain infusion. Adding sugar and lemon would give you a better and desirable taste, but you still can perceive the bitter after taste.
